'Pet Shop Days' headed for Venice Film Festival

Olmo Schnabel’s gritty NYC drama/thriller Pet Shop Days premieres at Venice Film Festival on September 3rd. Written by Schnabel, Galen Core and Jack Irv, the film tells the story of two young men falling down a rabbit hole of rebellious desire – one running from a traumatic incident and a bitter authoritarian father, the other a privileged drifter in search of himself. PSD stars Jack Irv, Dario Yazbek Bernal, Willem Dafoe and Peter Sarsgaard. The film is produced by MeMo Films and Twin Productions, and Executive Produced by Martin Scorsese (!) among many more.

Mack & Rita hits theaters August 12th

Katie Aselton’s hilarious ‘Mack & Rita’ opens in theaters August 12th, starring Diane Keaton, Taylour Paige, Elizabeth Lail, Simon Rex and Loretta Devine. Sean Baker's 'Red Rocket' in theaters December 10th!

A24 brings Sean Baker’s hilarious dark comedy Red Rocket to theaters on December 10th. Look for some huge *NSYNC placements, plenty of strip club vibes, 00’s nu-metal, and pop country gems. So basically the wild, genre-jumping soundtrack of every Sean Baker film. Music supervising this film was a blast - check it out and tell me what you think about the scene where Mikey runs through the town at night naked!

Matt nominated for the 2021 GMS Awards - 'Best Music Supervision - Reality Television'

Matt has been nominated for an award by the Guild of Music Supervisors in the category ‘Best Music Supervision - Reality Television’ for his work on the HBO Max series ‘Legendary.’ The virtual 11th Annual Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday April 11th, 2021. Other series nominated in this category include American Idol, The Masked Singer and America’s Most Musical Family. Check out Variety’s full list here

"MY HOUSE" PREMIERS ON VICELAND ON APRIL 25TH

Matt's newest series 'My House' premiers on VICELAND Wednesday, April 25th at 10pm. This documentary series follows several key members of the NYC ballroom/vogue scene and highlights the amazing music, dance and personalities in this niche community. The 10 episode season features an amazing original theme by ballroom stars Byrell the Great and Precious Ramirez.

MATT NOMINATED BY THE GUILD OF MUSIC SUPERVISORS FOR HIS WORK ON 'THE FLORIDA PROJECT'

Matt has been nominated in the category 'Best Supervision on a Film Budgeted Under $5 Million' by the Guild of Music Supervisors for his work on 'The Florida Project'. This is his third overall nomination by the Guild. The 8th Annual awards ceremony will take place at the Theater at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on February 8th. 

MATT RECEIVES HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA AWARDS NOMINATION

Matt has been nominated for 'Outstanding Music Supervision - Film' for his work on The Florida Project by the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. In their 8th year, this annual celebration honors the top music in film, television, video games, commercials and trailers. Up against some of the absolute best films of the year - including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Baby Driver, Fifty Shades Darker and Lady Bird - this should be an extremely entertaining category!

SHADE: QUEENS OF NYC DEBUTS ON FUSION

Matt's newest project is a doc-series for the FUSION network that examines the lives of seven NYC drag queens on and off the stage. Some huge musical moments in this series - each episode features music video style lip sync performances. Catch scenes with Lizzo, Seinabo Sey, Alex Newell, Imperial Teen, Beth Ditto and more. Airs Thursday nights at 10:30pm on FUSION

THE FLORIDA PROJECT NOW PLAYING ACROSS THE US

Sean Baker's The Florida Project (A24) is now showing in theaters across the US  - and will open worldwide in early 2018. The film has opened to fantastic reviews and continues to roll out to more cities weekly. Catch a screening in a theater near you - and keep an ear out for the amazing orchestral version of Kool & the Gang's 'Celebration' in the climactic final scene. A personal favorite...

REALSCREEN AWARDS

Two of my series that I am most proud of, cleaned up at the RealScreen Awards this past week: 

Noisey won in the 'Outstanding Achievement Non-Fiction & Culture' category. 

Meanwhile, Black Market with Michael K. Williams won for 'Outstanding Achievement in Reality/Documentary', as well as the 'Award of Excellence, Reality Programming', which is a top honor for all documentary programming.
